100% GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON
GRS CERTIFICATE
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is a voluntary product standard for tracking and content of recycled materials in a finished product. The standard applies to the entire supply chain and focuses on traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical content and labelling. A product must contain at least 50% recycled content to receive consumer-focused labelling.
RECYCLED COTTON
Recycled cotton is made from old clothes, textiles and cutting waste from factories. The collected cotton is first sorted by colour and then ground into small pieces. The fibres are then taken apart to be spun back into yarn. Since recycled cotton is often already dyed and selected for colour, it does not always need to be reprocessed. Recycled cotton is often blended with new cotton to ensure quality.
RECYCLED POLYESTER
Recycled polyester is made from used polyester such as PET bottles. These are processed into beads from which small granules are made. The granules are broken down into polymers, which in turn are processed into polyester chips. These chips can then be melted and woven into fibres to make fabric. The addition of recycled polyester provides extra softness and strength, making the fabric last longer.

SUSTAINABLE
BEDDING
ESSENZA & CO's mission is to make unique and comfortable bedding with a positive impact on the world.
Organic cotton predominates in this collection, but the future has a lot to bring in terms of innovation in material use. To make sure our products are as sustainable as possible, we see the future especially in recycled, recyclable and organic materials. In doing so, we only cooperate with people, factories and companies that share our desire to improve production together.
'Producing new products always has an impact on the world and can never be completely sustainable. Therefore, our aim is to produce bedding as sustainably as possible and make products that last a lifetime. We value an honest story from design to product and beyond, so that every step in the process is traceable for everyone.'
Says Rosalie Smits, head of channels at ESSENZA HOME.

100% GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON
The international GOTS certificate guarantees the use of organically grown cotton, but also that production is carried out in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. For example, the people who grow this cotton are treated fairly and paid a living wage.
